I am thinking of replacing FW 290 CTO Full-HD screen (1920x1080) with HiColor screen (1600x900). That's the only way that would satisfy my need to have fast video card (Radeon 3650) and rich color display with native resolution at 1600.

Presumably you have the spare part, how easy is it to replace FW screen on your own? Do you need special tools other than screw drivers? Has anyone replaced the screen before?

Note: please keep the discussion on replacing the screen only. I have at least 2 other threads

in which we can debate on whether changing the DPI or lowering the resolution would solve the issues.
