I'm about to order a Sony Z but want to use my own SSDs (Intel X25-M 160GB x 2). I checked out the manual on the Sony website but there is nothing about upgrading/swapping out the hard drives.

Is this possible to do and how?

When you get the Sony Z configured with quad-RAID SSD, are there actually 4x normal size SSD drives inside the chassis? Or are they stripped down somehow? I'm looking at the dimensions and I'm amazed that they could fit 4 drives in there + an optical drive.

Search is your friend. You can only replace the sony ssd with other sony ssd's ordered as service parts. The interface and size is custom. You can replace the DVD with another SSD but it's a bit of work.
