Hello
I have VAIO FW490 with free upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
The Windows 7 upgrade DVD has been delivered, but unfortunately I'm currently outside USA, so can anybody create an ISO for the DVD and upload it for me to RapidShare, any place else or by FTP (my FTP account info may be provided for that purpose)?
I'll be appreciated.

If it's been delivered, why not have someone back home send it to you?
-
It's faster and easier for me, it's costly and takes a lot of time.
I hope that you can help me. -
Any windows 7 DVD will work with the key, so if you can find someone with RTM/MSDN you can use that, if you catch my drift.

Do all windows 7 Upgrade DVDs offered from Sony work with all same VAIO models? -

Penicillin, it is against the forum rules to post and ask others to copy you or upload their recovery discs for you.

Sorry again -
I received the upgrade kit a couple of weeks ago for my FW490. The container holding the DVD definitely had a small microsoft 'sticker" with the product key. -
Hello again
I got the key, and it's mentioned that it's an upgrade key, I formatted my laptop hard disk, installed Windows 7 Retail, entered the key, and it's accepted and Windows 7 has been activated.
So what does upgrade key mean?
Thanks -
A Windows upgrade key means that you are only allowed to use it to replace an earlier Windows version (normally, one of the last 2-3 major versions), invalidating the old version. (I.e. once you've upgraded, you can not legally use the old Windows version on a different machine, nor sell it, even if it is a Retail version that can install on any PC.)
To assist you, the Upgrade installer aborts if it can't find traces of Windows and you also can't produce an earlier copy of Windows on CD/DVD. But that's only a check -- the real limits are in the EULA.
In contrast, a Retail version will let you install on machines that didn't have Windows already, and install it without wiping out the entitlement for a previous Windows copy. -
In the past, I bought a VAIO laptop with free upgrade to Windows 7, and I applied for Windows 7 upgrade, then I returned the laptop for a defect, then I bought two, two months later I received three Windows 7 Upgrade DVDs, and they didn't mention which DVD is for which laptop.
So I installed Windows 7 on one of both and used a code randomly of three to install it, will that cause any problems?
Can I install Windows 7 Retail on my formatted laptop using upgrade key with no problems in the future?
Thanks
