    Hey guys.

So i have never ending issues of the dreaded stamina mode switch not changing, and being stuck in intel graphics mode. I have researched now for aproximatly 3 months solid and exhausted all known resources on the subject,

The issue i am having is i need to install Nvidia drivers to get the graphics to be seen and return function of the speed mode however the drivers won't install without the graphics card being activated...catch 22.

I have tried many variations of installing drivers including manually doing it, no joy though.

My last hope is that is a request...plea that i can request the following.

Please would anyone be willing who owns this laptop brun me a copy of their backup/ghost/original install CDs please?

I do not need a windows key as i have my own, i only need the discs to reinstall the original software and drivers.

It would be greatly appreciated and i would be willing to pay for them.

    Thanks

    Craig

Can you turn on in speed mode? (nVIDIA graphics)
It sounds like you have bad nVIDIA chip and need to be fixed.

Not now, the issue arose after i updated windows from vista to 7.

When i updated the drivers didn't and when I installed windows, after a reboot i left it in stamina mode, since - it has stayed in this mode with no drivers to move it back and the hardware not being detected the drivers won't install.

When you attempt to install the drivers, it recognises the intel graphics and just says 'no no no you havn't got an Nvidia card'

Again, I have reserached this for a long time now, and tried almost every(that i know of) solution, i know the card works because it was perfect upuntill i changed to Win 7. I am now back on vista in attempt to reinstall drivers with no joy.

If I remember correctly, installing Windows 7 with the switch at Speed gets the OS to detect it automatically. I presume you are wanting to run Win7 over Vista, so just flick the switch, and kick off the install process.

Is there anyway to toggle graphic modes in the bios?
what about trying to install the drivers in safe mode?

(just throwing some ideas out there).

No way to taoggle and tried the safe mode option too.

I honestly cannot think of any other ways of doing this at all.

I remember installing Win7 to replace Vista a while ago, and followed Leslieann's excellent guide with associated downloads:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/son...bit-clean-install-should-help-other-szs.html#

If you try it with that it should work... I had to end up using an alternative webcam driver as I have an older SZ4MN/B but everything else was fine at the time. What happens when you try to use Speed mode? What does the OS say?

    Hi,

Thanks again, I followed the guide but it still does not work.

Whats odd is it worked fine up untill the OS reinstall(2 installs ago since the problem began)

I don't think its a hardware issue, when i switch nothing happens at all.

I stumped! In theory, it goes like this: switch to speed mode, reboot, Windows doesn't recognise the GPU and so loads up its generic display driver, but you can see the Nvidia in the device manager so can update the driver for it and hey presto, working Nvidia chip. So what happens when you flick to speed and reboot? What can you see in the device manager screen?

Nothing, just the intel graphics card.

Did you ever dismantle the machine? I've put the plastic bit back with the tooth not in the switch so it doesn't do anything when you slide it...
