I've been having some difficulty with my vaio and am thinking about doing the F10 Vaio Recovery to restore the C: Drive. I'm not all that computer savvy, and would like to know from those who have done this what to expect. How does this work? What happens? Will I have to reinstall windows along with everything else?

If it works as on most recovery systems (I have only tried on my FW series and a couple HP laptops), it will put back windows and any apps that are bundled with the lappy. It will be just as when you unwrap the machine for the first time.

Of course, all your documents will be wiped, and anything you have installed since, all settings etc. So any files you hold dear, backup to external drive/other comp/DVD/etc. ;)

The (automatic) installation and configuration of the bundled apps can take quite a while to install too.

Using the recovery partition your C drive will be restored to the state it was in when you bought the laptop - I suggest that for security you back up your programmes on an external drive (portable Hard Disc (HDD) or flash drive)

The actual recovery process is pretty much walk through on the Vaios, so don't worry :)
