After reading how to do a fresh Vista install on a Sony Vaio TZ I decided to uninstall XP and go back to Vista.

But I can't find anything on how to restore the Instant Mode which was available in Vista before? I did a Bios update in XP, could this be the cause?

If so, where can I find the latest Bios update to restore this? I did not find anything on vaio-link?

    I have a Sony Vaio VGN-TZ20WN

PS: Mods my apoligies for asking for the recovery dvd's, I wasn't aware of the OEM licenses.

There are some services, and maybe drivers, that must be installed for Instant AV Mode to work. Those would not be in a standard Vista install; they come from Sony.

You can download the application from the Sony support site. This should work:
    InstantON

By the way, it works under both Vista and XP.

    Cheers,

According to the page the link points to this is a software update with no reference to Vista or XP? And I also found this on the XP downgrade page:

Yet again, I found this while searching for "InterVideo Instantmode":

I'll give the update a try this weekend when reinstalling XP, allready getting sick of the bloated Vista again...
