Can these be returned within the 14 day period if there is no engraving? Say there are stuck pixels or something.. I thought that was the case but read the opposite elsewhere. Btw, I am in the US.

As long as it is not engraved it should be possible.

    In their terms and conditions:

Games, game hardware, Gift Cards, and Engraved Products are non-returnable items. We will not issue a refund on any CD, DVD, or software that has been opened (taken out of its plastic wrap) or downloaded.

Nothing about CTO Laptops... I would think you could return CTO's I mean if you couldn't then you might as well get the laptop engraved right?(and then they wouldn't put the warning about how you can't return engraved items during the CTO set-up)

I was told you can't return them as I inquired at point of sale when I called to place my order.

Best to my knowledge, U can't return a CTO. That is the main reason I bought one of the standard models. Sony sales rep @ retail specifically told me No return for all CTO.

I have returned 4 Z690 CTO without any restocking fee or shipping back fees.
What you can do is, just find any flaws like... hinges are squeaking...

or just make excuses like, the laptop is not turning on or has too many dead pixels something like that.

and you can get an event number from technical support

and next, call the customer service give them the event number and you will be getting an email for the prepaid shipping label for FEDEX.

100% working solution for returning VAIOs without any fee.

I wasn't happy with my F11 CTO (fan noise, screen, etc) so I got an RMA from the US SonyStyle website (didn't bother calling customer service) and shipped back the notebook within 30 days, and they credited the full amount back to my credit card a day after receiving the package...

    Ordered : March 25
    Shipped : March 31
    Delivered : April 2
    Returned : April 16
    Received : April 22
    CC Credit : April 23
