Is the Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 that came pre-installed on my SZ780 a demo, that will expire after a time period, if not purchased? Or--is it actually included, purchased by Sony to come with the Vaios?

Of course, most of the pre-installed software are demos. But with this, I have seen no notice about a trial period, asking me to buy it, etc. Or--will that come later?

If it does come with the notebook, not a demo, then I have another question. I'm planning to do a clean install of Vista, which would wipe out the pre-installed software, most of which I'd be glad to get rid of. However, if the Roxio EMC is not a demo, I would like to reinstall it. How do I do that, with the license, etc.?

I think it's a full version (not trial), but I doubt it's the most advanced and full-featured edition either.

Regarding reinstalling it, you can do that with your recovery partition / DVDs (I did this with some software after a semi-clean install), but make sure to backup this folder on a flash drive or something:

    C:\Program Files\Sony\vaio recovery

You'll probably need this to run the recovery program which you can use to selectively install Sony's bundled apps & drivers (run Launcher.exe). You'll also need either the recovery partition or the recovery DVDs you burned or it won't work.
