The AC adaptor for my S4XP has died. I am getting a replacement from Sony support but not for a few days.

In the meantime, I have identified this ( http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=42622&doy=14m12) as a possible replacement. The voltage and current ratings match however there are a couple of things I'm not sure about:

    1. Are any of the supplied tips suitable. It looks like a fairly standard size on the laptop so I am going to take the risk.

    2. Also, can anyone tell me whether the centre pin on the tip is positive relative to the outer ring? To clarify, the pin is 19V higher in potential than the outer ring. Or is it the other way round?

    Many Thanks.
    Michael

Well, if anyone is interested, the adapter works fine with my S4XP. However, the adaptor does get very warm in use and my laptop is centre positive.
