    Hey S-series guys,

I use Photoshop for fairly graphic intensive applciations and play the occasional 3D FPS game on my computer and it'd be nice if my laptop could keep up.

Can the base configurations of the Sony S series handle that sort of thing? Or would I need to trick out an S270 with a 9700?

For photoshop you are best off getting as much RAM as possible as this will give better performance boosts compared to upgrading the GPU. However for 3D games the 9700 will be much better than the 9200, esp if you plan on playing doom3 or HL2 type games. If you prefer older FPS like COD, quakeIII etc then the 9200 will cope ok. Personally I think the 9700 would be the way to go...if you can afford it.
