I am more then likely going to purchase some sort of Sony notebook for college (possible a toshiba), i've been reading about the S380's and new S480's a lot.

The only objection im having is the fact that maybe the screen size, 13.3", doesnt need to be that small and i can get away with something a little large like the Toshiba Satellite M35, or Sony FS Series, that has comperable weight.
I really like the S Series Portability and light weight, which would be great for carrying around campus. But typing a paper for hours on a 13" screen? I am uncertain on how that go over.
Just wondering if anyone has any feedback or opinions so I can finally make a purchase.

I'll suggest the Asus W3v, or the Fujitsu s6231 both of which will offer better build qaulity than either Sony or Toshiba. They are both are glossy screens. The Asus is a little heavier and is widescreen but has a dedicated video card. The Fujitsu is a 13.3" standard screen. I don't think the screen size matters as much as the resolution. All of the laptops are either WXGA or XGA which I don't think will cause you problems. If you are looking for the laptops with the best keyboards, IBM Thinkpads are it. Good Luck.

I was robbed by a sweet little old lady on a motorized cart and I didn't even see it coming.
