I was planning to customize S-580 but after I select customizing
cpu 1.73GHz, NVIDIA Geforce, 512MBX1, 60Gb HDD, DVD multi layer, xpp
After all It came out $1638.98 Tax would be $ 81.95
    So total $1,720.93 came out.
It seems little bit expensive then I thought

And S-560 which dedicated and can't customize.
has spec of same as customized S-580 above but CPU, and HDD. S-560 has 100GB and 1.86GHz CPU
    It cost me $ 1,799.99 Tax: $ 90.00 Total: $ 1,889.99
And S-560 give me $100 mail-in rebate. So total would be $1,789.99 but I'm not sure with rebate. Can't trust them.
    Which one should I buy?
Is it 100Mhz Cpu and 40GB more HDD worth about $100?
    Actually I don't need 100Gb HDD.I'm confused right now.
Cause I wanna upgrade my ram to 1GB so need to buy another 512MB ram. Which one should be wise selection?

First, keep in mind that the S580 also has a $100 mail in rebate just like the S560 and S570.

If you want to upgrade your ram to 1gb you are better off getting the S570 (which comes with 512x1) or configuring your own S580 with 512x1 and then just go buy another stick of 512mb from crucial or newegg. The S560 comes with 256x2 ram, so unless you want to buy two brand new sticks of 512 and toss the 256x2, you should just get S570 or S580.

    S560: 256x2=512
    S570: 512x1=512

    Hope this helps.

The information on Sony's site is incorrect, or at least was in my case. I purchased an S560 3 days ago, and it came with ONE 512MB 533MHz SODIMM not 2x256MB and not in the 400MHz flavor.

    Cheers!

That being said, I *cancelled* my S580 order after they dropped a 2-week backorder delay on me. I have been extremely happy with my S560.
