I'm very interested in two Sony models - the T series and S series. While they seem perfect, both of them lack S-Video capabilities, which is very important to me for watching photos and DVDs on TV when I'm travelling.

I'm wondering if all you Sony owners have a solution to this - do you use some kind of external S-video adapter (are they even available?), or maybe you don't need this functionality at all?

If there's no good solution, I'm afraid I'll have to choose Fujitsu's P7020 or S6240 (the equivalent of Sony models) - both of which have S-Video capabilities.

If s-video is important to you, I suggest you go ahead and get Fujitsu's S-series. Specially if you use s-video often, you're going to fit it quite annoying to not have the s-video on your notebook. The Fujitsu is also a fine machine

S video is going to produce a very very poor image. I don't know about the T but for the S you can get the optional docking station and hook up to an hdtv via the dvi jack on the docking station.

I tihnk the Fujitsu P is a better option anyway.

Thanks for all your response. I'm now not sure if the S-Video feature is all that important while deciding which laptop to buy. Though any help from you guys regarding this would still be most helpful!

Anyways, I did find this PC-to-TV adapter which should do the job:
