    Hello,

quite happy with my new S13 for gaming, I've decided to try and use a HDTV that was in the apartment I rent.
So I hook up the HDMI port, I see my extended desktop etc, and hear the sound but when I launch a game and try to put on the second monitor (HDTV) it shows "no signal".
Trying fiddling around I was able to show the game on both Sony and HDTV but at 1024 resolution.
Now the HDTV is a Soyo MT SYTPT3227AB, and it is true that on the manual ( Soyo MT SYTPT3227AB LCD HDTV Manual pdf free ebook download from static.highspeedbackbone.net ) it shows up to 1024: does it mean that it is so old and crappy that I can't go above? Because when I'm in extended on the desktop it kinda shows that the HDTV would go up to 1920...
Beside the low resolution what's annoying is that the items on the borders are hidden, no idea if I can zoom out to fit the HDTV screen.
And if I try to show only on the HDTV even then at 1024 it says "no signal"...

    Any insight?
Sorry if the post is lengthy or not clear but ti is the first try with HDMI and HDTV.
    Thanks

Many, if not all, games like to be run on the primary display. Use 'extend my desktop onto this monitor' (not clone) and set the TV as the primary display. Adjust the resolution as desired, and then start your game. Remember to set your laptop screen back as you primary display before disconnecting the HDMI cable.

If you have performance issues, try using just the TV as the display (no dual display). Again, remember to set it back to your laptop when you're done playing.

Remember, the TV will stay black until your laptop and TV agree that they are both HDCP compliant. This can take up to a minute on older TVs (which is what you are likely to find in hotel rooms). Just wait it out.

Well, it turns out the tv is not really that old and you can play nicely at 1280 or 1920. It is all about how to get it there.
With Steam you just launch the HDTV interface, choose secondary display and then I was able to go windowed in the games, change to 1280 or 1920 and then go fullscreen again.
In NFS Most Wanted I move the window to the HDTV then go fullscreen, but in the options it does not show up to 1920 because it still thinks I'm on the main laptop display (not I would need to go 1920, it would probably be choppy, but still...)
I'll try with other games but for now it seems good

I tried to play with HDMI and i can say it's response time is awful. Maybe i need more expensive cable with gold but i can tell that quake was not really playable when everything on screen had 0.3 second delay.
