So, I've settled on an S13p as my new machine, but I haven't decided on whether I should load it up from Sony, or get the most basic spinning platter drive and minimum RAM and then add my own.

Let's assume for a moment that cost is not a consideration - here's what's going through my mind:

    - Possible drives to use: Samsung 830, Intel 320, Intel 520. The jury seems to be out on whether or not it's worth bothering with a SATA III drive. I'd rather not have to disable my optical drive and muck about to get SATA III to play nicely.

    1) Which would get me the fastest setup? I intend to use bitlocker, and would like to minimize its impact.

    2) Which would get me the most reliable setup, given TRIM isn't available for RAID 0 yet, and the above listed hard drives each have their own quirks.

Any other thoughts would be much appreciated.

    Thanks all!
