I need to know for sure, with real stats, is the m9700 or Go 6200 the better video card. This is why I am buying this laptop. It was the smallest laptop I found that I could game on. I am not expecting to game like my desktop but if I happen to be at my friends and he says lets play a quick game of Battle Field, I want that ability.
So which ever one has the better card is the one I am buying and I have heard people say it both ways. One guy that has both and says he losses less frames with the S380. Others say no way, the S360 gives you better frames. Which is it!!!!!
I need to know because all the S360's are selling like pancakes and if I want one I will need to move fast. Or I will be forced to buy a S380.
Can people who own them post some numbers from both machines to compare to each other?

video throughput is going to be difficult to separate between these two cards. Technically...from the research I've done...the Radeon 9700 benchmarks a little faster than the Geforce Go 6200TC. The radeon in the S360 has 64MB dedicated memory...the Geforce in the 380/480 has 32MB of dedicated memory and uses up to 96MB of system RAM to complement the 32MB dedicated. The other 96 will be slower than the dedicated for sure. However, the Radeon with the Dothan chipset is AGP...the Geforce 6200 uses the new PCI-express bus used with the Sonoma chipset. Also...the Sonoma Chipset has a 533mHz front side bus (instead of Dothan 400mHz FSB. Sonoma also uses DDR2 RAM instead of DDR1 (Dothan). The S360 comes with a 4200RPM drive....the S380 and 480 a 5400RPM drive. Taking all of these things into consideration....the the overall gaming experience might be identical. What you should consider between the S360 and the new models is that the newer models pull more power hence shortened battery life. They also on first inspection run a lot hotter which means the annoying fan in the S series will be on a lot more unless you go through the trouble of undervolting the processor to bring the power draw/temperatures down. Hope this helps.
