I have an S54B, which is a Japanese model and I think is the same as the S560 in the US. I want to replace the Japanese keyboard with an English one, as I really hate the small space and backspace keys. I know that I can get one through Sony or eBay, but I was wondering if anybody knows of any other 3rd party keyboards that would work with my machine? Or if the silver keyboard of the new SZ model would work? Since I am going to replace my keyboard, I thought I might as well get something a little different than the standard black one of the S series. Also, black keyboards show wear much more than the silver or white ones I have seen. They start to get all shiny and are a real eyesore. It must be the coating or something.

Does anybody know if there are any cool 3rd party keyboards that would work with my machine? Would a silver one from the new SZ work? I googled a little bit but didn't find much information about it, so I was hoping somebody here had exprience in this area. Thanks!

I'm not sure if any 3rd party makes specific, built-in notebook keyboards. Most keyboards on notebooks differ from notebook to notebook - it would be very expensive to make keyboards for specific notebook models. I say Sony would be your best bet - however, you might also have to change your OS if its in Japanese as well.
