    S580 - XBRITE or not?

    I was told at a SonyStyle store that the S580 coud NOT be configured with XBrite. Actually they there USED to be that option but no longer.

    Not surprisingly Sony's site is unclear. This page:

    says "with or without XBRITE..." for the S580. But when [Customize] is clicked, there is only a single screen option:

    "LCD 13.3" WXGA BR"

    So is that XBrite or not? According the store rep only the pre-built models (including the "store exclusive" S570 he was trying to sell me) have XBRITE.

    Can someone clarify please?

    You could go to Best Buy and see if they have one on display - or perhaps ask one of the salespeople there.

    I ordered an s580 with the BR which is xbright. Great screen, some dimming I noticed on the lower corners. Overall excellent.
