S580 Keyboard Please HELP...

i'm new the forum but it helped me in my decesion for the s580, thanks everyone.

well i just received my s580 and well a friend spilled grape juice on it . Everything seems to work fine besides the keyboard i was just wondering if there was a place online i could find one. I was told by a friend that i should also attempt to wash it with detergent. Could anyone please help a sad sad laptop owner. Thank you.

 

have you contact sony support yet? I think you can order a replacement keyboard from them.

 

I assume you're writing from jail, because I surely would've killed said friend, j/k. I guess the system was on when this tragedy happened, man what a shame. Did you have the extended warranty on it? Not sure if grape juice is included in the warranty. Can you tell grape juice spilled on it? Call tech support and say the keyboard stopped working.

 

the ****ty thing is i cleaned it and everything works fine besides the **** 2. ARG... so i guess i will just call sony then repair it myself would that void the regular 1 year warranty it comes with? It seems to me that there is no way they could tell i changed the keyboard. Got the price and it's only 62 dollars so thats not bad. Thanks for the info guys.

don't know about the laptop as a whole but the keyboard is :'( :'( so sad soo sooo sad....
