Not long ago, we found some Sony VAIO accessory pages on Sony US site, those clearly stated SA/SB/SC as compatible models.

Now if you go to Sony US again, "SA" has been pulled from all accessory pages. This is definitely not a good sign, does this mean SA series has be cancelled? SonyInsider says new Z (hybrid PC) is coming this summer, could this be the reason Sony dropping SA?

Maybe they are just removing it from the page, because of a longer delay, now that japan is affected by this earthquake and it's follow-up problems.

They might release it with the Z in the summer

A clash between new Z and SA wouldn't make business sense.

Also if SA is delayed, why is SC on the page? Surely SC has been delayed as well, since we haven't heard anything about it.

IIRC, the SA series are supposed to be made in China. It might contain some Japanese parts though, and I'm not sure if those are affected. Many factories in Japan are shut down and not operational for now. It might be a temporary delay just so customers would consider other alternatives, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually cancelled.

I still haven't figured out what the SC is.

We all know what the SB is (defining features Mg case, 1.75kg, 720p screen) & as far as I'm aware the SA is exactly the same size & shape but goes carbon fibre, so a bit lighter and gets the 900p screen.

I haven't seen any reference to how the SC will then be differentiated from those two, or any European release dates. So is it a US-market only version instead of the SA or something?

Maybe SC is a 14 inch version?

I doubt they'd further confuse their customers using another letter with 2 inch models, plus the E covers both 14" and 15" already, and if the S were 13" and 14" people would get a bit confused

Well the C also covers 14" and 15"
What can possibly the SC be? Crappier specs?

SC could use i3 processor. Japanese SB base model has i3, so SC could be just like that. SC could also be an exclusive for some US retailers, e.g. Walmart.

I did mention a couple of weeks ago that i think that the SA could have been dropped. I hope that's is not though as really that's the only laptop that appeals to me right now.

Are you able to tell us what differentiates the SC beaups? Is it a regional thing or will it be spec/construction as between the SA/SB?

Well, China seems to have the VPC-SD so it may just be a regional thing. If that's the case. I wouldn't be surprised if the VPC-SA is the same and not the Z replacement that everyone is assuming. It seems like from the inital release from the specs for the SA, a lot of the SB items that are said to be on the SA are the same.

SB chassis is super nice. The problem is lack of 1600x900 screen.

SB CTO is due April 6th and still available in USA. SA will be the ultimate notebook but its unclear what pricing will be like for the equivalent of the SB for $1499.

SA could very well be higher than the most expensive SB which is $2499 right now. So an SA with improved specs over the existing loaded SB would likely cost a ton.

The SA has been removed from the EU support page. No specs were listed previously but it's been removed now anyway.
