    SA's right palm rest hotter than the left

    is this normal? this was experienced during normal internet surfing.

    Yes. The HDD is right underneath the right palm rest--and those things can get rather hot.

    Not only that, the entire laptop's worth of chips are under the right side (admittedly, under the KB area, and not the palmrest), which I have no doubt that those also contribute.

    I'll note the 500GB Hybrid HDD/SSD that Sony ships in some S series, runs very HOT!

    Unfortunately the HDD is only as big as half your palm-rest. But they are working on a bigger HDD so that you can keep both your hands equally warm!
