This SB is my dad's and after I just fired it up to help him install some updates I found something very annoying. There are two very distinctive marks just to the left of the webcam and it is VERY noticeable under even little light. I wonder if any of you have this issue with your SB? (Or SA, even)

Here's a picture of the scratch marks.

Here's the picture of the likely cause of this problem, I've tried to place my finger inbetween the marks and when I close the lid my finger touches the fingerprint reader entirely. That proves that the problem lies with the fingerprint reader.

If you have sharp eyes, you'll be able to spot that the fingerprint reader is not only misaligned, but also slightly accented above the left and right click buttons. Deja Vu? Yes. There was a thread about the misaligned fingerprint reader in the past:

Can I take it to my local Sony store and demand them to fix both the fingerprint reader and give me a new panel? Or does it fall into "cosmetic damage" and not covered?

If i remember correctly you are located in Hong Kong.
If you are, I think you should try taking it for repair and see what they say.

Well yes I am in Hong Kong :D I believe you are in Hong Kong as well. The SB was purchased in late March (during the pre-order period) and has been sitting in a laptop bag for almost 3 months without any usage except for me installing updates and updating software, so no excessive pressure was applied whatsoever. I'll take it over to Sony next week as it's a public holiday here today and I'm quite busy over the weekend.
