I just went through this dilemma. Get the biggest/cheapest SDHC card you can. The Class 6 cards are overkill as the SD card reader cannot read/write those speeds. I bought a Sandisk Ultra II SDHC Class 4 card and only managed 1MB/sec.

To test the speed in Vista:

    Read speed
winsat disk –read –ran –ransize 4096 –drive <drive_letter>

    Write speed
winsat disk –write –ran –ransize 524288 –drive <drive_letter>

Credit goes to this page http://trevinchow.com/blog/2007/03/06/readyboost-on-a-sony-vaio-sz-notebook/

Side note: I also bought a MS Pro Duo and only managed 1.9MB/sec. Neither are readyboost capable. I might try the new MS Pro Duo-HG cards.
