I don't know if anyone else has encounter this issue but when i press right part of my space bar, close to the alt key, sometimes it does not register and I have to press it harder or go more to the left. It's really annoying because I tend to press the space bar with my right thumb, and i find myself missing a space now and then.

It seems that the left edge does not have the same issue for me at all. Do you think this is a defect?

no, i just think that the very right of my space bar sometimes does not hit the sensor hard enough or the sensor is not sensitive enough to it.

It happened once on my HP that a bread crumb got stuck under the bar...compressed air plus shaking upside down solved the case..

I have a similar issue with my vaio SA. My left shift doesn't always register a press, and I've had the same issue with a previous SA which was replaced because of something different. However, it got significantly less worse during the few weeks that I had it. Give it a few weeks because your keyboard may need to 'wear in'. These keyboards are built more rigid compared to desktop keyboards because they have to last at least as long as the laptop itself.

Normally, new laptop keyboards don't behave this way though. If you're in doubt, just give Sony a call.

I have the same issue with my SC, only thing its on the left side. there's no wear-in or anything like that, just bad manufacturing.
