    I have SONY FW130E (P8400 2.26 GHz) (2 GB Samsung DDR2-SDRAM PC2-6400 (399 MHz)-[DDR2-800]), I would like to add another 2GB RAM.

Wanted to know can i use any other manufacturer if i want both RAMs to operate in dual-channel mode (best performance).
    Can i use DDR3 ?
What does PC2-6400 and DDR2-800 mean (i got this information through PC Wizard 2008) ?

If anyone has any suggestion for what RAM I should use for best performance that would be great.

Yes you can use RAM from any manufacturer and if it works as in a Desktop the only condition to work in Dual Channel is to have the same capacity (2GB - 2GB) and run at the same speed.

And as far as I know you can't use DDR3.

PC2-6400 and DDR2-800 is what the new RAM should have in its spec sheet.

Well at my Desktop PC you can verify that in the BIOS, probably is the same with VAIO laptops.
