Thanks for the replies. As far as portableone goes, they list the SR with:

    - ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 3470 (890MB) VRAM

on the first model. Now is this some kind of turbocache addon or does it really have that much? Because both Newegg and sonystyle say 128MB.

It's probably the maximum shared memory.

    Dedicated memory is 128MB.

Am i right in thinking the Intel graphics are not as good as the Ati graphics on the SR?

Trying to spec one now on P1 but the base/cheapest model has Ati graphics which doesnt make sense to me

I'm doing the same, and yeah, the SR129 and SR130 are the same price and identical except for the fact that the 129 has discrete graphics

It means the GPU has dedicated memory as opposed to integrated graphics that uses the internal memory.

Yes it is better for gaming and 3d performance.

It does take a little bit more power than the Intel though, so little bit less battery life.

Very strange. It makes it a very easy choice though.

But isn't the X4500 supposed to be shipping later? That's what I heard anyway.

Hmm...i am a bit hesitant to go for a 1st gen SR, there could be major problems, and i could wait and get a better spec.

    X4500 in the SR?

Yes I heard all laptops with X4500 were supposed to ship later because of some problems.
