    Hi

I have a Sony Vaio SVZ1211C5E it has 256GB SSD and want to upgrade these. Now the problem I have is that there seem to be confusion as to the type of hard drive these take. I know the connector in the VAIO SVZ is SATA6 so assuming the hard drives should also be SATA6 enabled.

I know people are upgrading their hard drives in their Z1 and Z2 with two hard drives which are also compatible with SVZ13 but they are SATA 2 ADN SATA 3. From my understanding so far,

    MZRPA512 drives are SATA 2
    MZRPC512 drives are SATA 3

but what are the SATA 6 equivalent of the above drives, does anybody have the exact model number for the sata 6 version of the 512GB please?

there is also a Toshiba THNSNF512GRHS RAID0 512GB LIF SSD, now what is this?

there seems to be a lot of confusion among the manufacturers.

or IF someone wants to sell the quad core. SVZ 512 with 8GB RAM, quad core cpu, 1080p, anniversary edition , just let me know please that would be easier.

    Thank.

As far as I know, the MZRPC512HAFU-000 is the fastest (Gen 3) model; I don't know of any SATA-6 specifcation (does that exist?)

There is no SATA 6 specification.

    SATA 2 (3Gbit/s, 300MB/s) or SATA 3 (6Gbit/s, 600MB/s) only.
MZRPA512* drives are SATA 2 and were manufactured for VAIO Z2, so they are older than MZRPC512* SATA 3 drives made for VAIO Z3.

2 x SATA 3 channels offer theoretical 1200MB/s speed, which is faster than any available SSD for this machine. My MZRPC256HBDR gives around 900MB/s read and write speeds.

I'm looking for the upgrade as well and have found 2 versions: MZRPC512HAFU and MZRPC512HBFU.
I could not find the specs to check the difference, but my guess would be that later is just a newer modification or firmware upgrade. It's just my guess.
Also it says so here, but I'm not sure how accurate is this info.

Check out available parts at https://www.servicesplus.sel.sony.com/sony-parts.aspx by typing in MZRPC512 into "Description contains" field. Then you can find available parts for sale anywhere cheaper.
