Other than those two issues, does everything else seem to be ok with Windows 7 on the TT?

What part of the world did your TT come from?

What version of Windows 7 (32 or 64 bit?)

I have an Asia-Pacific sourced TT27GD/X. When I recently rebuilt my Win 7 installation, I tried the 64bit Win7 drivers for the US Model TT290 but things like the Light Sensor and Lid Opening trigger didn't work. So I tried the 64bit drivers for the TT4 series from the Sony UK support site, and everything is working fine.

WOW!!! really? I would love to get those drivers. My TT laptop model is TT190 and I'm using Windows 7 32-bit. Would it work? Please let me know and where I can get those drivers. Many thanks.

Sorry the TT4 drivers are intended for Win7 64bit, although about half those listed will install on 32bit.

    The link for those interested:
    http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computing/vaio/downloads/preinstalled/index.aspx?l=en_GB&m=VGN-TT4

There are some 32bit Win7 drivers intended for the TT3 here: (between these two perhaps enough?)

Don't know if it will help but I discovered there is a tick box for the noise cancelling in the Realtek Audio Driver properties under the 'Enhancements' tab.

Both of these links I checked have no driver for the ambient light sensor. The noise cancelling still doesn't work. There's no tick box under enhancements tab for the noise cancelling either. There was a tick box for noise cancelling for the previous Vista OS. Any idea?

    Many thanks.

No, not really. I experimented with different driver sets until I got it right. Also I don't know if the TT1's are electronically identical to the TT2's either. The Ambient light sensor definitely came right for me when I installed the updated Win7 video driver off the link I posted here previously, which was specified as an original driver for the latest TT4 series. Again, why you don't see the noise cancelling option on the audio driver tab is a mystery.

So I wonder... you've not mentioned what other device drivers you've installed and in what order. If you are unsure what needs to be installed and in what order, a couple of people have posted their TT install recipes in these forums.
