    Good morning.

I have a SONY VAIO VPCW12J1E or PCG-4V1M. The problem is that it unexpectedly shuts down. Not a Windows shutdown procedure. No supplying power and it closes sharply.

The frequency that the shutdowns are performed is not stable. Once it may be done on the first five minutes of laptop working, the other on first two minutes, etc. But, as of now, the maximum time the laptop works is about 6-8 minutes. Then, shutdown !

Brand new battery (bought two months ago). The power adapter, when the laptop shuts down, is not hot. Besides, I have rejected power adapter possibility by the fact that the problem appears also with only the battery connected on the laptop.

Another thing that is remarkable is that, if the shutdown is performed e.g. 6 minutes after operation, if I try to power on the laptop immediately, then it tries to power on, and it shuts down at the same way (sharply) after only 5-10 seconds. If I try this 4-5 times, the same result. No meaning to try it more. So, you have to put it aside for about 30-40 minutes, and then it will load Windows completely.

What is your opinion about all that? Could you please help me?

Thank you for your time !

Sounds a bit like overheating. If you get a chance, try download CoreTemp, HWInfo or HWMonitor and check your computer's CPU temperature.
