You haven't followed the guide properly.
-
Really? Which is properly? I haven't any other
-
Are using 32-bit or 64-bit Win 7? If you are using 64-bit, Vaio Power management doesn't work as expected. All the other functions work (except the special function button and Wireless switch switching utility).
For 32-bit Win 7, follow each and every line of Gary's clean install guide.
You must wait for Sony to release official Windows 7 drivers before asking "Why does this doesn't work in Win 7?" -
coolguy:
I'm using 64-bit W7 so...thanks! I have to wait for new drivers-do you know when Sony should release it? Multifuncion buttons are smaller problem than very very very low holding time of my baterie after unplug from electricity. I tried unplug it today...and batery hold only 15 minutes - it's terrible! Can you tell me where can be a problem? I have notebook in warranty still -

Also look up Dr.pratek's additional info on Win 7. He has an FZ190 and is running Win7 (32 bit) with EVERYTHING working just fine, power managment, function keys, onscreen display of volume, brightness, multifunction keys etc. I corresponded with him earlier today.

Yeah, but he is running on 32-bit W7 - it's a reason why everything working! Can you tell what is wrong with my battery??? Which software or driver I need? -
I think that your battery is gone. Because I didn't install the Sony battery checker software (ISB utility) and I have no problem running 64-bit Windows 7 RC.
You can install Battery bar software to check the battery. -
Nooo...It's can't be gone :-(! I have something unknown hardware in Device manager visit this http://www.pavelprochazka.ic.cz/battery.png - maybe it's my battery? I have original VGP-BPS8A battery! Yeah I tried Battery bar but it's same result like normal Windows checker in taskbar...after unplug every minute 1% of my battery is falling.
-
-
Yeah, thanks! First was SFEP and second was memory card reader - but driver for 64bit isn't available :-(! More than an hour? Impossible...only 10-15 minutes - are you sure that I needn't use some special driver or software?
I solve problem about my S-button and this caution display still! I have SFEP, Sony Shared Library, Settings Utilities Series and VAIO Event Service but don't works yet. This is a screenshot http://www.pavelprochazka.ic.cz/button.png -
Your battery is damaged. The "S"-button won't without installing a 64-bit version of Sony utilities DLL (which is not available at present).
-
OK I'm waiting for 64-bit version of Sony utilities DLL and I check new battery. But battery VGP-BPS8A (11,1 V / 5200 mAh) is so expensive in my country!!! For example here http://www.1234oo7.com/laptop-batte...s-battery-p-2197.html?currency=USD&language=2 NICE PRICE...in my country cost about 315 dollars TERRIBLE
-
Did you check the battery wear level using Battery bar?
-
Totally...look at this http://www.pavelprochazka.ic.cz/bat.png ! Is my battery gone? I don't know why is battery wear 0%?
