I ordered a FZ290 a few weeks back that has a warped keyboard that I will be retruning tommorow. I found out on this board that new models were coming so I waited and was trying to decide if I was going to order another Sony or not.

Anyway I decided to order a new AR770 almost $2500.00 that won't ship until the begining of Feb. Anyway I called Sony Style to see if they would hold my other order until they received my return since it's over my credit limit to cover both.

Sorry that new order will be canceled in the morning I was told. Is there anyway to just hold the order since it was not shipping for a month I ask? NO they say.

Sorry he tells me that's the way credit works in America.. I said I understand but since the new one won't ship for a month you will have my return and my account will be credited. Sorry nothing we can do.. They are almost rude in the way they talk down to you...

My credit limit is double with Dell. Almost thinking of going with Dell just because the way the talked to me.

One of the other reasons I went with Sony as they had the 18 month no payments or interest. Now that promotion is gone and back to 12 months. I asked since I had to return this laptop with a hardware problem can I get the 18 again. Again a big no..

It's like they don't care if they get your business or not.. Kind of funny that I really liked this laptop. I have not bought any Sony product in several years as I think the quality has gone down. I will be getting a LCD HD TV this summer and was think about a Sony since I liked the LCD Xbrite on the laptop.

To many other companies out there that don't act like jerks on the phone. Lots of compitition Sony!!

dude all big companies act like this. sony is a prick for hiring asssholes like that. I would have demanded to talk to that mofo's manager and give her a peice of my mind if they talked down to me like that. Dude, they can not charge you (credit card) for something they 1. don't even have yet, 2. not even shipped out yet. So called back and grow a pair of balls and demand your special deal back and get your order back. If not just call back to give them a peice of your mind and file a complaint. anything to taint their image for their crappy services.
didn't mean to sound mean, im on your side and just giving u some tough loving so u be prepare going back there. cheers, goodluck.

Here is Sony response to the email I sent them. I know why the order was on hold. I know it's over my credit limit! I just asked them to hold it a little longer since it was not going to ship for a month. First person said my order would be canceled tomorrow. Just one day. Am I just missing something here? I just wanted them to hold the order so I don't loose my place in the shipping line and or price. Is that to much to ask?

They didn't even respnd to the rudeness I received about that's how credit works in America from that smart talking CSR.

I wasn't asking to send me both systems just to hold it a little longer!

I do tech support for a major corporation would be fired for talking like that to a customer. Even if I could not get what the customer wanted.

    Dear Kevin Myers,

In regard to your inquiry, your order is on hold because of the fact that you do not have enough credit limit. Please send the other one as soon as possible or your order will automatically cancel itself. If you send it back in time the order will go through as soon as you have enough credit on your card.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Thank you for choosing Sony Style!

Customer (Kevin Myers) 01/07/2008 12:31 PM

I decided to try another Sony Vaio and ordered one today on the Sony Style web site. My current Sony will be shipping tomorrow. Anyway I called customer care to see if I could get the new order held since I will not ship for a month and was over my credit limit. I was told no we can’t do that I will also miss the 18 month no interest and no payments because of this hardware problem. Again I was told No and that was how credit worked in America. Very rude whoever I talked to in customer care.
Here is the email for the order below. Again is there any way it can be held until you receive my current one? My credit limit with Dell was double Sony’s but went with Sony.

When I talk to customer care it seems they could care less if I purchase another Sony product or not. If this does not go well do you think Sony will be the big screen LCD HD TV that I get this summer? I don’t understand your attitude. I wasn’t asking you to ship both laptops before you received and credited my account for the current one. I can still get the Dell that had more memory, bigger HD and higher res LCD for less than yours and not have to wait.

    Email back to Sony

I realize why my order was on hold. I know it’s over my credit limit. All I wanted Sony to do was to hold my order. The new order said it would not ship until first week of Feb. I didn’t want to lose my place in line for the order and or my price. That’s it. I also inquired about the 18 month no interest no payments offer Sony had on my last order that is now gone. Anyway all that aside your rep talked down to me. Do I need to hear things like “That’s how credit works in American” from some CSR? I wasn’t asking you to double my credit or anything to get both orders! Just to hold the new one until you receive my current one. Sorry that was just too big of a request.

Email back from Sony. Again never address what made me mad in the first place. Not that they couldn't hold the order but the way I was talked to.

In regard to your inquiry, unfortunately we do not hold orders. Your order will be automatically cancelled if you do not have enough credit in time. I am very sorry for the inconvenience this will cause you.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Thank you for choosing Sony Style!

ya sony really sucks at customer care, if they didn't make some good products i wouldn't ever even bother with them.
