Hi,
I'm going to buy a SZ680 from newegg.com. Before buying it, I'd like to make sure about warranty. Can anyone answer to below my questions? Thanks in advance.
1. I can buy SONY extended warranty (such as Onsite Extended service and Accidental damage protection extended service) after buying the laptop from a retail store (like Newegg.com), right? Look like newegg.com also sells those Sony warranty.
2. If I buy "2 Years Onsite Extended Service", does "2 years" include the basic 1 year warranty? or after 1 year (1 year + 2 years = 3 years)?
3. What is the difference between "Onsite Extended Service" and "Accidental Damage Protection Extended Service". Looks like "Accidental Damage Protection" also covers my mistake, right? Then, if I buy "Accidental Damage Protection", is "Onsite Extended Service" included? or do I need to buy both?
4. To make it sure... "onsite Extended Service" is better than "Express ship" , right?
Please let me share your knowledge! Thanks!![]()

my understanding:
you can buy warranty later, i am not sure how late you can do it but couple days won't be a problem. the service starts on the date of your laptop purchase, not warranty.
ADP covers your mistake. but it does not include onsite service per my understanding. you can go to sonystyle.com to compare the warranty service offered there. 3 years onsite and ADP cost you 300 bucks!
onsite is better than express ship. but you need to make sure there is a service center close to your location (50 miles).
And you can buy laptop and warranty from different locations. I am buying the laptop from newegg.com and warranty from CDW. I need to provide the purchase proof to them. -
Thanks a lot!
So, if I want 3 year warranty, then I need to buy 3 years extended service, not 2 yeares. And ADP doesn't include onsite service.....Hmm..
That's good info.!
SONY warranty!!!
