    Hello all, Hope someone can help I have a sony vaio pcg 7113l laptop. It was working fine however now on boot I only see a splash screen then in the top left a flashing cursor and it can't be moved. I have tried all the tricks like f8 f2 f10 and so forth. The only one that will work is the f2. I have tried ctrl alt del nothing will work. I then tried to put the windows 7 cd in the drive and it wont read it even after I changed the boot order to read cd first. I am at my end on this one and think its the hard drive. Any thoughts? Thanks.

    Sounds like your hard drive has failed. Same action was happening with an older laptop about 1 month ago for me.
