This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Hi all,

    I've been looking around for laptops lately and this seems to be a pretty good deal with sony. I'm planning to upgrade this pretty far and I was wondering if I opt out of the blu-ray disc drive, can I upgrade it myself later? Or do I have to send it back to sony to upgrade it?

    You can opt out for a later replacement, but I personally would do it now if you can.
