I have an SR-190 CTO which I've had since last September. Every time I take the laptop off the docking port, it is scorching hot. Has anyone else noticed this? And when I took the laptop off tonight, the battery was at < 10% even though it had been on the dock for a couple hours. I also cannot for the life of me remove the battery...I'm really hoping it's not melted to the laptop or something.

Has anyone else had related issues with the SR docking port? I'm still in the 1-year (though I also have an extended warranty), but this sort of problem really )@#%*s me off.

Heat within the docking station is not a good sign. If you can remove the battery, try using the dock without the battery? It could be that the battery is failing (my guess).

Yeah my S.R. was a bit of a burner also, too hot for me, but not quite scorching i'd call it. Not enough to melt a battery anyway! But where is it hot, on the laptop, just around the battery? And it only started getting hot and couldn't remove thebattery after you started using the D.P.? I have read about people having problems with erroneous battery meter readings, but you know by now if you've had it since last year. And that battery lock is tricky to take out anyway. Sorry to hear the problems, that sucks. Sony will probably want to take a look at that, at least you're still in warranty!
