Does any know if the SR series port replicator is hot swappable? That is, if I want to take it out of the dock to take it somewhere else, does that require that I shut down the machine or can I just take it out?

It should be hot swappable. there will be an option in the start button "Undock". Even otherwise it shouldnt matter if you eject the machine by mistake.

My Dell replicators are certainly that.
