    Hi there,

I am installing Gentoo distribution to my Laptop and I have already Vista Business installed by default. I modified correctly disk partitionning and I kept the recovery partition as is. Now, I would like now to install Grub to be able to boot on Vista or Linux.

The problem is that, at grub prompt, when I try to do :
"root (hd0,0)", I get "Filesystem type unkown, partition type 0x27" error message

I am not really sure what I may do. Do I need to change hd0 partition type to "fake" a known type partition for Grub ? In that case, will the recovery partition still work if needed ?

    Thank you

    Alex

I found : my /boot partition was not the first partition on the disk.
I used "root (hd0,4) and everything worked fine ! :)
