In 2008 I bought the AR770U CTO for around $4k. It has Vista Ultimate, and all this time I have had lots of trouble with freezing, boot up problems, etc. I've done a recovery several times, but when I install all the Windows Updates after VAIO recovery it reverts back to screwed up.
I am thinking of upgrading this PC to Win7. However, there are several VAIO audio programs which I want to keep. Sony no longer supports SonicStage Mastering Studio, those free Waves plugins worth as much as the PC itself, and DSD Direct.
If I upgrade to W7, how can I reinstall that stuff, assuming its even compatible with Win7?
