Are Windows 8 drivers backwards compatible with Windows 7? I recently purchased a SVE171290X and on Sony's website only Windows 8 drivers are available.

I hate M$ so much for shoving Windows 8 down consumers throats. At least when Vista was out people were allowed to downgrade to XP. Windows 8 is horrible.

I cannot get Hot Key Utilities to work in Windows 7. Is there a VAIO model with Windows 7 version of Hot Key Utilities?

Where can I find a list of VAIO laptops that where released pre-Win8?

I'm about to receive the same laptop. How is your windows 7 OS running since there is no drivers available on Sony's website?

Look for a previous model that runs Windows 7 and install Hot Key Utilities. What I did was search Newegg (or any e-tailer) for a Ivy Bridge model that still ran Windows 7 and then went to Sony's support page and looked up that model to see if there was Windows 7 drivers.

Looking at Newegg now I can't find anymore VAIO laptops with Windows 7. I wish there was a site with a list that shows which chipset still ran Windows 7.
