Hello, my Vaio SVE171390X has decided it doesn't want to charge anymore.

The first thing I did was replace the charger because the green light on the charger would go out after it was plugged in and I wouldn't get any lights on the laptop. The new charger light stays on but doesn't charge the battery, no lights on the laptop.

I bought another battery and the laptop still won't charge, It does however turn on with this new battery because it shipped to me with ~15% of a charge. I get the wireless light, and the hard drive activity light coming on, the power and battery light just flash.

So I thought maybe the DC jack was bad and needed to be replaced. I bought one and it arrived today. I installed the new one and it still won't charge. It does nothing different than before.

I tried using just the AC cord without a battery in it, and it won't turn on. No lights or anything.

Anyone have any idea what else could be wrong? The laptop turns on with the new nearly drained battery, but it won't charge at all.

    Any help would be appreciated.

The only thing i can think of that you haven't mentioned is to try a "reset".

    unplug AC adapter
    remove battery
press and hold power button for 30 seconds, then release
    install battery
plug AC back in and turn on.

this worked for my SR when it would not turn on.
