Hi, is possibile to put the SVS13A display (1600x900 VAIO Premium) in a VPCSA notebook?
The screen quality in new S13A Series seems to be better than old SA... The connector and flat cable are the same?
I'm about to buy a brand new VPCSA3J1E for €540 and i want a better quality screen.

The S13A screen is pretty good but not great - I don't think it would be worth it.

Possible, most likely doable. As always YMMV. Do you have a model number for the SVS13 premium panel? I recently switched my SB's screen for an SA's and considered getting the SVS' instead. What stopped me was that by all reports the SVS' screen isn't much better. Let us know if you come across a model number. Don't quote me on it but i think the SVS standard models use a different panel from the premium models, though i could be wrong on that one.

In some review and opinion founded surfing the web the SVS13A display seems to be a lot better than the SA's one (but not perfect, obv.). For me is enough for swap the screen.
Anyone has tried this? Because the SVS's 1600x900 display is around € 100...

The model number on the back of the SVS13 display is a "Chimei Innolux N133FGE -L31 Rev. C1". Another serial number I have come across for it is "A1890097A". The serial number on the connector of the LCD is "V120 LVDS 2CH CABLE". Hope this helps.

I've used both the VPCSA and S13A models (currently using the S13A one), and I'd have to say that the VPCSA screen was much better to the eyes than the S13A. I wouldn't bother with the swapping if I were you

Well I went to a official Sony reseller and they had the S13 Premium and the normal S13 side by side and the screen of the Premium was brighter, had more colour saturation. Also the normal S13 screen had something milky about it. However the S13p screen is still pretty average and due to the matt coating it has some graining going on.

    I own a S13premium.

That's basically what i've heard. I've been meaning to go to a store and check it for myself. The problem i've always had with screen swaps is that short of getting the screen straight from sony, most of the parts distributors out there (at least in the US) will sell you a "compatible" screen but its very hard to pin down exactly what model of screen they're going to send you. Usually it's a cheaper version of a similar panel. Even if its worth it to the OP to do the mod, he'll have to make sure that whoever he's sourcing the panel from is actually sending him the Chi Mei screen and not a "compatible" one, for instance the ChungHwa CLAA133UA01 which would probably work (the screen i and a few others swapped our old SB's screens for.) At the end of the day i kind of like the ChungHwa better than the stock SA screen (the ChungHwa is glossy and even though I love matte displays, i'll take a mediocre glossy over a mediorce matte) but i haven't been able to compare that panel to a S13p.
