    Hi,

HP Saves the setup files of "goodies/bundled" softwares in C:\SWSetup. Does any one knows the alternate name and path for such folder for SONY VAIO FW 290.

I have Vista 64bit and i am willing to install Windows 7 RC on it. In my HP machine i just backed up the SWSetup folder and after Windows 7 setup i installed everything which was in SWSetup folder.

But cant find such folder in my SONY.

You can try to download all drivers and apps from Sony eSupport and store them in a folder of your choice. Other than that, the recovery partition and disks are your back up.

    cheers ...

Can you post a link to your model on eSupport? All software downloads from there always allow the save-to-disk option - at least on mine.

    cheers ...
