Can you tell us about your hardware specs? RAM VGA ? How are the response times. What drivers did you have to download and install manually? Which ones use the default ones that come with Vista? Did you use any XP drivers?

Its a SZ120P with 1.83Ghz Core Duo, 1GB RAM, and the two video cards, Intel GMA & the Nvidia 7400. Response time is great, Vista runs smoothly and it hasn't frozen on me once yet. The Intel GPU drivers were detected automatically, while NVIDIA's I downloaded. Wireless, Bluetooth, Audio but not the built-in mic worked with Vista automatically.

XP Drivers that I used were Camera, Fingerprint Reader and the Media Card reader. I then installed the Audio drivers to get the mic working but if I didn't want the mic, the Audio was workign with Vista.

Vista is released for Businesses to buy, and yeah I can post some more pictures. What would you like to see?

I edited my first picture, so check it :).

Well XP got boring, always nice to upgrade to something new. So far my experience has been nothing but good with it. Its very stable and thats what I like about it the most. The graphic effects are sweet too.

Having used both OSX & Vista. Im still in favor of Vista even though its pretty much XP with more.

I suppose I always liked XP over OSX.

The fingerprint driver works but does Protector suite QL work for you? I don't think it does. How about brightness control?

Is your Fn keys for Vol. and Brightness Working in Nvidia and Intel?
Vista RTM on my Compaq is now fully working, will switch on SZ if aformentioned is resolved.

When I have time for sure.

The brightness keys, volume keys all work with the Fn key, which isnt working for me neither the S1 & S2 keys. I suppose this is because I got no idea what software to use to get these to work.

I can probably get Protector Suite QL software to work if I install it under XP format.

How is your experience index so high? I have the same sz120 on vista rtm and only getting 2.4. I run the nvidia card all the time so I haven't checked the index on the intel card. Also for me the mic worked right away.

so which do you have? Intel GMA950 or NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400?

Intel's newest chipset for laptops is the 945GML/GM/GMS which uses the GMA950 for display

the 945PM on the other hand you need a aftermarket card ati/nvidia

Badboy_77, The SZ has both integrated Intel Graphics and Nvidia 7400, it switches between them via a switch, Helps boost performance when needed and maintain good battery life when its not.

I haven't jumped to Vista on my SZ yet, but I plan to once Sony releases drivers for everything. I have upgraded my Media Center to Vista Ultimate however. Works great. I was surprised how well it works on my old P4 2.8Ghz HT with 1GB RAM and ATI Radeon X1300 Pro. You really need a good DX9 video card if you want to use the nice GUI effects and Media Center.

No Idea, I didnt design it, I think you can change from Intel to Nvidia while the notebooks on but you have to turn it on to change it back (Or vice versa) Not to sure to be honest, I dont own a SZ.

To what I can see the Vista isnt showing them as using shared memory. No matter what GPU I switch too the amount of RAM remains the same (1GB).

    Btw Vista is cool

what about cpu usage? I heard in the beta keeps your cpu locked at 100%? And I take it the brightness at 100% has been fixed?

can you run the 3dmark05/06? please?

I had Vista Ultimate RTM/Office 2007 loaded for a couple of weeks, and this past weekend, I reverted back to XP. Vista seemed to suck about 30-40 minutes of run time out of my batteries.

I found that Vista had more aggrevations with all of the little quirks and I pretty much gave up on it, and decided I would look at Vista again once SP1 comes out.

I did a total clean install with my XP (used an OEM disk from work with my CD key) and my SZ-330P/B now runs great!
