Can someone help me by opening a command prompt in a Vaio SZ with Vista and typing:
dir C:\Documents*
My "C:\Documents and Settings" junction point was somehow mapped to "S:\Users" instead of the expected "C:\Users" - from a full restore. I'm puzzled.
-
In Vista, they got rid of C:\Documents and Settings and instead put all of the user directories under C:\Users. On my SZ460 with preinstalled Vista Business, there is no C:\Documents and Settings, just C:\Users.
-
My point was that mine was automatically created and pointing t the wrong place S:\Users instead of the normal C:\Users.
If you type
dir /ah
in your cmd at C:\, you will see it listed.
I was wondering what everyone else's linked to. -
With "dir /ah" mine shows the following:
11/02/2006 06:02 AM <JUNCTION> Documents and Settings [Y:\Users]
And I don't have a Y:. If I try "Y:" I get:
C:\>y:
The system cannot find the drive specified. -
Thx Mikey!! Kinda confirmed my suspicions. I wonder what the heck Sony are doing randomly mapping it.
-
yep that sounds dodgy, on my clean install it maps to c:\users
SZ - Vista - junction point for C:\Documents and Settings
