Suddenly yesterday my right trackpad button stopped working (SZ120P/B). It still clicks like it's doing something but it doesn't register any output on the screen. And the left button now behaves like the right one giving me a context menu when I click on an open area of the screen. I kind of fixed it by setting the upper left corner of the touchpad to act as right-click, so that stopped the weird behavior of the left mouse button, but I still get no output from the right one - zero, zip, nada. I first tried uninstalling/reinstalling the driver. Then I completely uninstalled/reinstalled with an external mouse attached in safe mode. I even went as far as doing a full system restore and still no change. I am pretty well convinvced that this is a hardware problem because I get the same weird behavior when I am booted into Linux as well, so I know it's not just isolated to Windows.

Anyway, I dread the thought of having to deal with Sony support, so I was hoping someone might be able to throw me a suggestion on what else I might try before I go through the pain of getting on the phone with them and then most likely boxing it up for shipping. I know it's a slim chance, but I thought I'd still ask around in case someone else has already dealt with this problem. Thanks in advance.

Any luck?, the left click button on my vaio seems to have stopped working also. No software related i guess. Ideas? The right click works fine. But it's a pain not to have the chance to left click!

Take the mouse pad off and stick a double sided tape under the left click button.

I feel for you guys/gals, hope it gets fixed.

No luck getting it fixed myself. Spent about 45 minutes online with a support tech trying everything we could think of short of cracking open the case. He finally threw up his hands and told me to send it in to Sony for warranty repair. Not real thirlled at the prospect of having to be without my notebook for a week or two, especially considering it's a little less than four months old.
