I've installed vista and I have looked at many of the post on here and followed the 4 step fix for the brightness issue and installed in this order + reboot each time:

    Sony Shared Library
    Sony Utilities
Sony Notebook Control (only need if you have clean install windows vista)
Vaio Event Service (for control the Fn function)

But this fix isn't working for me. I'm getting sick of not being able to adjust my brightness with my FN + F5 or F6 key's. Does anyone have another fix that worked for them?

So basically I'm looking for a fix to adjust my brightness with my FN + F5 or F6key's.

Any help with this issue is greatly appreciated.

same here for my wife's fe855e. Any ideas how to fix this? The laptop originally had Vista (supports vista only on sony website) and now has XP pro installed... This is why I'm having problems finding drivers/software that would work with this notebook.
