My SZ 270 running on Windows XP and Speed mode is very hot. I just think to update better driver for Go 7400 Graphics. Which version should you suggest me?

go to http://www.laptopvideo2go.com and be prepared to read. they have the best nvidia drivers with the .inf file for laptop support. Most nvidia drivers from nVidia do not support laptops.

Download the latest XP driver from laptopvideo2go and use this .inf file modified for SZs for brightness control.

Thank you! But what are the needed strings for the brightness controls? I'll try to put them manually in an inf...

Nothing new from this new driver so I have gone back to the original version from Sony update. Then Fn Brightness is working again.

Look in the inf and find "[nv4_FAEIDS]". Everything below that and above "[nv_ClearRegistrySwitches]" contains the brightness settings for 7 series vaios.

BTW, here's v162.18's xp inf with brightness settings only for vaios with 7 series gpus.

    nvidia7400go v162.18 for xp: http://tinyurl.com/34frkl
    nvidia7400go v162.18 sz xp .inf: http://tinyurl.com/3xdonb

And if you want to know how to properly remove previous nvidia drivers read this guide but use Driver Sweeper rather than Driver Cleaner Pro.
