Has anyone had a chance to compare the Santa Rosa platform, of the latest SZ6xx series, to the 533mhz models? I am just wondering if the 800fsb makes much difference? I know the new series is .3 pounds heavier and battery life is a bit shorter than the previous model.

The previous models use 667 FSB, not 533 FSB

also wondering about this. Is the SZ6 really faster (or better) then the SZ5 processor?

It is, you can just google santa rosa and see the differences, how does that translate in performance I am not sure but the differences are there. A few of those are that one processor can stay idle when not needed to save battery the integrated gpu is direct X compatible, the wireless card comes with the N spec and sony upgraded the Nvidia discrete graphics card, not to menton the new max speed of 2.4 Ghz

I have read a lot about Santa Rosa and I do understand everything that is posted. I also understand that having upgraded to T7600 2.33 processor and 7200 rpm hard drive I am running much faster than a standard SZ. I am just wondering how much faster a SZ6xx is than my current custom upgrade? My question is directed to anyone who has been able to compare the front side bus speed of the SZ6xx to pevious SZ machines, understanding the fsb of the older SZ is 667mhz with the memory underclocked at 533mhz.
SZ 2xx, 3xx, 4xx, 5xx Verse 6xx series FSB speed differences?
