    Hi guys,

I did some search on this topic and couldn't come up with similar issue.

I left my SZ on the desk to download few items, when I go back to response a IM, I burn my finger tip when I touch the track pad!!!

The window OS function as normal. However, keyboard and mouse no longer response and there is excess heat coming from the track pad.

I reboot the system few times with power botton. I can boot into window and use fingerprint scaner. However, keyboard and mouse pad still not working. the heat will build up with time. ( I even wait for few hours after laptop cool down)

I guess it could be a fan not working? I brought this SZ back in June 2008 in US so it is still within warranty but.... I am currently on international assignment in China. The shipping along will cause me about $100 each way!!

just want to ask if anyone have similar issue? is this something cheap to fix out packet in local Sony customer service (in China)?

    thanks for any input.

Heat sounds like high current sounds like something shortcircuiting - I'd say do not use the laptop and have it looked at.

Looks to me as if a connection "fried".
