    Hi

Anyone knows about the difference between VGP-AC19V10 and
VGP-AC19V12? And both could be used with SZ-360?

    Thanks

I recently asked a friend of mine to find a spare AC adaptor for SZ in Manchester,UK. He found VGP-AC19V10 in Sony Center, and he says the adaptor is not grounded, though it has 3rd pin, which is plastic :(

No good news from Bruxelles, either. :( VGP-AC19V12 is not grounded, it is sold with grounded plug though.

The only hope now is Syndey, fingers crossed for a grounded adaptor

As a point of interest, after one of the last times I sent my SZ340 back in for repair (long story), Sony returned my computer to me and replaced my old AC adapter with a new, three-pronged adapter. I hadn't asked for a new AC adapter.. they just gave it to me.

The 'brick' portion of the adapter was larger than the last one I had too.

Sony has a whole warehouse full of these somewhere!

Why wouldn't you simply buy the Kensington or the iGo. They are both smaller, lighter, and more versatile than the Sony brick and both solve the grounding issue.

Well, I guess I hvae no choice but to use Kensington or iGo, however from people posted here, not everyone solved their tingle feeling with Kensington and I see no mention of iGo, also it seems Kensington uses a 2 pronged plug as well, so I guess I am still going to see if I can find a 3 pronged sony ac adapter here in the US, if not I will expand my search to UK.

btw, is 70watts AC adapter from Kensington enough to power the SZ?

    Not safely.

I would get [I did get] the 120w AC/DC. It is a bit more expensive but it also has enough headroom to handle a large 17" laptop plus you can use it on a plane, in the car, and overseas and use it to charge your cell phone, camera, i-Pod etc. at the same time - and it is still smaller/lighter than the Sony brick.

BTW, I have never had any "tingle" with the Kensington...

Can someone who owns SZ3xx series vaio and uses Kensington 120 W adaptor, who is also aware of and recognizes the tingling issue could confirm please if the electric leakage on the palmrest while using regular Sony VGP-AC19V10 adaptor would disappear with the two prong Kensington 120 W adaptor? thank you
